tryLock() attempts to acquire the lock without blocking.

The tryLock() method in ReentrantLock attempts to acquire the lock without blocking the thread if the lock is not immediately available. This is beneficial for avoiding deadlocks in systems with multiple locks. For instance, in a flash sale, tryLock() can allow a checkout process to proceed with alternative logic if inventory lock is busy, rather than waiting indefinitely.
